Music Minister
Charles Vail – Chuck has served as our Minister of Music for almost 20 years. He is the self-proclaimed ‘piano guy’ and fearless leader of our small, but outstanding choir. Chuck’s background includes classical voice and piano training, as well as piano studies in jazz and gospel choral music. He also has a background in musical theater, performing the lead roles in various summer productions and directing the orchestra for a dinner theater in the San Diego area. Chuck combines his musical upbringing in the Baptist church with our Congregational tradition, leading us in ever new and exciting musical directions.
Church Council
Treasurer– Sandy Taylor – Recently retired, Sandy spent her career as a Speech Pathologist, Girl Scout Professional on both the national and local level including 15 years as a CEO, and as the Beulah Postmaster. She is a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership Community Leaders Program, and Leadership Pueblo. Sandy serves on the Rocky Mountain Conference So That Team Re: Spiritual Nurture/Outdoors.
Sandy enjoys traveling, theatre, knitting, camping and the out-of-doors and doing community service both locally and internationally. She resides in Beulah with husband Chuck, and cats Gabby and Taz.
Moderator– Judith Baillie – Judith is a fourteen year member of CCUCC. She has served the local church as both Moderator and Treasurer and currently serves as Chairperson of the Worship Team. She also serves the wider church at the Association and Rocky Mountain Conference levels as the Southeastern Association Representative to the RMC Board of Directors.
Judith is a retired K-12 and college – teacher and administrator who values her close and supportive family and friend network, service to the community, and ongoing spiritual journey.
Building & Grounds– Chuck Vail – Chuck is a native Puebloan and a graduate of Colorado State Univeristy-Pueblo with a BS in Sociology/Psychology in 19781 and a teaching certificate for K-6 education in 1999. He worked in the construction industry for 25 years and as an elementary teacher for 15 years.
Chuck enjoys music, theater, gardening, and carpentry. He keeps busy directing the church choir, keeping up the church building and grounds, and trying to follow Jesus’ example in community service-locally and nationally. Chuck lives in the Beulah Valley with his wife, Sandy, and a couple of four-legged furry ‘children’.
Hospitality– Margaret Barber – Margaret is a retired English Professor whose avocation is environmental activism along with David, her husband of 32 years. They are members of the Sierra Club, Citizens for Clean Air in Pueblo (which she founded and has served as president), Sangre de Cristo Volunteers for Community. Among her many interests, she enjoys traveling, reading novels, gardening in the community garden they helped start in Colorado City, cooking. theater, and music. At CCUCC she chairs the Hospitality Committee, helps maintain the church garden, and sings in the choir. Whenever possible, she spends time with her 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren, who are scattered from Seattle to Germany.
